Jakal was founded on the strength of broad finance experience and deep expertise in the financial services industries, to meet the need for complementing senior executives and their finance teams as they encounter through-the-cycle capacity constraints and the need to scale-up for day-to-day delivery and strategic project execution.

Who We Are.

Jakal director Philip Timberlake has spent almost 20 years in the financial services industry working with companies across Africa, as well in Europe and the Middle East. With his professional origins as a chartered accountant in a big-4 audit and advisory firm, Philip has since served as executive; CFO; director; and board chairperson across industries including administration; ICT; healthcare; property; and insurance. As a life-long learner, Philip was recently awarded his Post-Graduate Diploma in Specialised Accounting (University of the Witwatersrand) as well as completing the Saïd Business School Executive Leadership Programme (University of Oxford). Philip is an avid mountain trail enthusiast, husband of 20 years, and father of two pigeon-pairs.
